The Maersk Luz with it’s precious cargo of continental cars has departed the Thames Gateway port and is on it’s way to Rotterdam, where it is due to dock at 14:30 today 5th May.
I don’t know if this is where the cars will be dropped off but when there is news I will let you know.
The Sofia Celeste with the equally precious cargo of UK cars is out of satellite contact at the moment but on it’s way to Las Palmas due in in a few days time.
The ship made the UK newspapers last Friday in a report about the South African lockdown and the difficulty maintaining exports through the docks. Apparently our ship is now laden with South African wine destined for the UK as well as a consignment of Satsumas!
In the meantime, Bruno and his team at Destination Rally in Belgium have been on safari in Brussels using their 4×4’s to deliver food and supplies to the needy in lockdown.
Good for them: every bit of volunteering helps get us through this crisis.

They have had a long and exciting trip, shame that the same couldn’t be said for the drivers!
