In the current climate, with almost every country in the world affected by the Covid-19 virus, it is now impossible to run the 2020 version of the Trans_Africa rally. So with much regret, the event has been cancelled.
Obviously the health of everyone involved is of highest priority and travel restrictions from Europe and into Southern Africa have been imposed.
Although the ship with our cars, the MSC Sofia Celeste, is still in the English channel, our containers are at the bottom of a stack and can’t be recovered. Later cargo was picked up in Bremerhaven, Hamburg and Antwerp, as well as Le Havre. So the plan is to ship the cars back as soon as they arrive in Capetown without being taken from their containers.
More news when there is anything to report.

So sorry to hear that.
Do you actually mean ‘postponed’ – the cars are already there?
Global Rally
Hopefully postponed rather than cancelled long term but for now it is cancelled until we have sorted out the logistics of rebooking hotels and all the other elements of the trip. The cars are on their way there now (because we couldn’t get them off loaded in time) so as soon as they arrive, we will have them shipped back.
We are aiming to re-organise for the same time next year but we don’t know yet if that is possible. As they say, watch this space!
Thanks for your support John

What a shame and we were so looking forward to following your progress.
Global Rally
Thank you. Yes, we were looking forward to sharing our news daily too. The support we had last time knowing people were following along from home was wonderful. Obviously as soon as we able to share more news about new dates we will let everybody know.
