Car #2 on our Friendship Rally is Neil and Olivia’s Jaguar XK140 Drophead called “Beasty”, in a fit of irony, as she is so beautiful!
A veteran of Friendship rallies; Beasty was bought and prepared specifically for the first rally from London to Sydney in 2005.
Strong as a ‘beast of burden’ (can’t say ox, she’s female), and utterly reliable, Beasty has also participated in two other Friendship rallies: the Panama to Alaska rally in 2008 and La Gira Andina in 2012.
She has travelled to numerous other destinations including Continental Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltics and St. Petersburg, as well as Myanmar in 2015.
It was this last trip with Charlotte and Robin Morrison that inspired the current rally from Vietnam to Myanmar and back. Needless to say, we are very proud of Beasty and can’t wait to get her back on the road after her Christmas and New Year cruise.
