To be fair to John and Marian, their gorgeous MGB GT has been christened for this blog, and this Rally. The youngest of our Classic participants, Maggie was created in 1972 and bought in 2016 as an unfinished project.
She has been lovingly restored by John and Marian for the South America “Rally of the Incas”, which began in Buenos Aires, went south to Patagonia, then across the Andes into Chile, back into Argentina for the Atacama desert, then into Chile again and finally Peru. The maximum elevation was 4,800 metres. Blessed are the cars that have SU carburettors!
After the Vietnam to Myanmar, and back Rally, Maggie will be off later in 2018 to the Outback Classic rally through Central Australia.
And then in 2019, the biggie, Peking to Paris.
