Core Crew arrive in Hoi An, Vietnam

February 2, 2018 //  by Global Rally//  2 Comments

Apologies to those of you flying out today, I got a bit ahead of myself earlier in the week saying it was departure day for you all when it was actually the advance party flying out!  Sorry for causing any panic that you had lost a couple of days somewhere.

The “core crew” lead a forward charge to make sure everything was in place and ensure the cars were all safely off loaded and ready to be reunited with you all this weekend.

Safe travels to those of you currently heading east.

The first report though is in though from Vietnam!   To follow are photos and captions from Jo who is travelling with partner Paul in Pooh Bear

The cars that have been unloaded at Hoi An Port with the Friendship Rally “Welcome” banner

Paul inspecting Chalky, car number 11 as it is being off loaded

Smiles from the core crew who have all been reunited with their cars

Jo, happily reunited with Pooh Bear, car number 16

Robin and Charlotte caught getting used to rush hour in Vietnam!  That’s car number 12

Paul and Robin proudly standing beside their cars outside the Royal Hotel who have allowed the cars to be parked at the front of the hotel for everybody to see.

Neil and Andy relieved to be standing beside their cars at the hotel too.  Their cars are number 2 and number 10.

Robin being served some tea whilst he “tinkers” with his car and Paul supervises!

And a final goodnight shot of the cars outside the hotel

There are also some lovely updates from the crew already in Vietnam that will be shared from their pages to our Global Rally page on Facebook so do keep an eye on there too for other updates and photos

If I knew Jo looked like that, I would have come.
Already jealous of the photos, weather & scenery.
    Safe travels.

Who are the GRO?

We are a non-profit making organisation created for people who relish a challenge and an interest in classic cars. Combining these two things allows our members to explore the world.
The charge for all rallies will be “at cost”, save for a pre-stated administration fee for organising the event and the shared cost of the service / medical crew. We are able to do this as we will also be participating in the adventure and the countries are ones we wish to visit.
